Quit using Rotella. Use Motorcrft 15w-40

Could be the engine breaking in and not the oil. Would like to see this comparison with a higher mileage truck

Look at Triax oil. You wont be disappointed. I run all of their oils in all of my applications

I hotshot, my 6.7 gets Walmart cheap 15w-40 and a motorcraft filter every 5k. Runs great zero issues, regens like it should and the filter usually stays at 0% on all my runs.

Technically the Valvoline 10w30 isn’t on the ford approved list. Possibly because it doesn’t have the correct formulation. Maybe why you were having issues. The Valvoline 5w40 is approved though.

Back when I ran a "fart catcher" on my '19 Ram 6.7 S.O., I got a forced regen every 24 hours of use on the engine timer(idle & driving). I was running Rotella T6. I run Amsoil now because my rocker trunnions looked like shit after 25k miles when I studded it. Parts fell off but the DPF looked excellent at 25k miles. T6 probably is good for emissions systems but might be lacking in the additives that reduce wear. It's a balancing act between emissions system life and engine wear. Pick your poison. I recently went into the rocker box again at 60k miles since switched to Amsoil at 25k and wear is now controlled. Almost nothing to see or be concerned about. I do 10k intervals.

It’s a tough call because of break in. Run it again and see what happens.

You should also recomend fuel treatment like hotshot. Fuel is engine oil biggest weakness.

Id do rotella t6 and change oil every 5k. I use penzoil on the gas engines, still shell owned company. Nothing better then american oil.

Hey Paul. Are you saying that maybe the evaporative loss is causing increased regens or that the 6.7 is consuming oil causing the regen? Also I run a 21' mega cab HO. Maybe it's a good thing but i do mostly highway towing and rarely regen. With Valvoline or Amsoil

What if... it was just the rings seating in for the first 4000 miles? Try going back to Valvoline and see if it repeats... That would be proof in scientific study.

Hey at least the 23 and up power strokes have a 9th injector before the DPF to raise EGTS versus dumping a bunch of extra fuel into the motor.

Can't wait to see if you notice a change when you switch to your regular oil. I need to look for that Valvoline oil. Have an old Dodge minivan with 400,000 Miles on it.

Since the rotella is working so well, why do you plan to switch away from it in the future? Also, really like how you are able to look at different cases and recommend products accordingly, like saying valvoline isn’t right for the power stroke, but did great in the Honda.

Check the drain for the sunroof mine was leaking into the sunvisors

That water stain is from the rear drains for the sunroof are stopped up. I have yet to figure out how to get to the rear drains without taking the headliner down. Front drains are easy to see.

Store my engine with nasty oil? Not likely. Al the stuff that builds up in nasty oil will do damage just sitting there. Think about what happens to steel in water- rust. How about acids? Store it with fresh and then change it before a service cycle starts and at regular intervals. Use a new, good quality filter at every change. That will save you engine damage $.

One thing is to get cab steps and learn how to properly enter and exit the vehicle. It drives me crazy when people slide in and out of seats.

I have a 19 with 111,000 and EGR cooler failed and motor is toast. Warranty claim denied. Any suggestions??

You do know all fuel comes from a local hub which is a separate company from gas stations. They dont make the fuel. Every gas station gets fuel from the same hub in their area. So blame the hubs not the stations unless they have crappy tanks in the ground. The usa has always been known for the worst fuel.

I am on my second set of AT3W on a 2018 F250. I got 58K out of the first set; there was still 10k of tread left. I run across CO, WY, MT, ID and WA during all weather conditions 3-4 times a year. I wouldn’t run another tire. I love that tire, it inspires confidence, traction is second to none. My next set will be the AT4W.

Very few people need more than an all season tire. Summer only tires are good in dry deserts. But if you actively seek out back woods trails, hunting etc a good AT will work well for you.

Deleted my 2014 ram 3500 i have 870,000 miles on it and it is still running good .

Here in Michigan I buy W/T (winter tires). The real test is freezing rain or snow at 35 degrees.

From Alaska and I run Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T. Its the best tire I have used so far. I wouldn't recommend them for mud obviously, but a fantastic tire for everything else. I think they run in the winter almost as well as my blizzaks.

I have an f350 2018, I've had the stock Goodyear, suck, Yokohama, loud and suck! The Faulken AT3 are the best, great tires 40,000 miles and going strong. I won't buy anything else.

Never sipe tires! It's a bullshit gimmick. If it was meant to have sipes it would from the factory.
